# Fee collection

V1: coins launched before factory v2. This tab applies to coins launched before factory v2, from the v1 factory, and only to them. Nothing new launches there: every new launch is v2, in the V2 tab.

Fees are paid in the quote asset: `ETH`, `BNB` or `SOL`. Never in the token that was launched.

Meteora supports collecting fees directly in the quote asset. Uniswap v4 collects fees in whichever token enters a swap, so fees from sells accrue in the launched token.

To convert them, the platform swaps those tokens for the quote asset when fees are claimed. This keeps extra code off the trading path, reducing the risk of a bug disrupting swaps. The trade-off is a small price impact from selling the collected tokens into the pool.
